    USG75 MODEL

Yeah, that pretty much coincides with my SG experiences. I'm a big Angus Young fan so I do love that SG tone. The Epi korina one that I tried was horribly balanced, almost unplayable as the headstock kept taking a nosedive. The Gibson Special Faded was better balanced however. I wouldn't...

    Upgrades...what to do??

Hey albino - if it's a more responsive tone/volume setup you're after, I would definitely take a more detailed look at the RS kits. They're designed to provide exactly what you're after.

    SEB/chambering/weight relief - Opinions?

Just out of interest - is your LS125 a new model bought in the UK or did you buy second hand, or from abroad? My one is a '05 NOS model, and I seem to recall someone here saying the SEBs were no longer being manufactured. Any other info including pics would be cool as well.

    Upgrades...what to do??

Have you checked out the pre-wired electronic upgrade kits from RS Guitarworks? (i.e. improved pots, caps etc.). http://www.rsguitarworks.net/cms/index.php I have heard good things about BK pickups, but there are so many companies that supply good PAF type replacements that it would be hard to...

    WANTED Goldstar Sound Pickguard

I know it's an older model, but have you tried Bob at Tokai UK? He's been pretty helpful when I've contacted him.

    USG75 MODEL

I have yet to see a Tokai SG, so pics would be appreciated to see how it compares to the Gibson original. Does it have the 61 style small pickguard or the later, larger "batwing" type that surrounds the p/ups? And does the headstock have the extra "nipple"? If the Tokai SGs are as good as...

    Can't get no relief ....

A small problem with my LS125 - I've been experimenting with different string gauges and the set-up in general. One problem I've noticed is that I can't get much relief in the neck, even with the trussrod backed off fully. This means that the low E string buzzes badly unless the bridge is...

Tips on fitting pickguard to Love Rock

Thanks Hunter - I managed to borrow a drill with a number of small bits for the pre-drilling. I want to make sure it's a neat job so the guard can be removed in the future, but I'll be leaving it on so I don't suppose it matters much. I just hope the finish doesn't crack when I'm starting the...

    2000 LS-75Q....poly or nitro finish?

I figured the same was true of lacquers, which was why I wasn't sure whether the "lacquer" finish on my LS was actually nitrocellulose or some other product.

    Tokai Beauty of the Burst

Thanks Mickdal - that's the one I want, and 23000 yen in GB? is approximate to what Tokai UK can supply them for.

MiJ Tokai Les Paul - Which one should I choose ?

To be honest, I don't feel anything streaming through my body when I play my LS125 SEB (apart from large quantities of strong lager) - the above is obviously a quote straight from the marketing manager's mouth. However, to be fair my SEB is quite resonant but no more so than any other "alive"...

    left hand tokai LS

+1 - maybe you could find a NOS model? I managed to find an '05, I don't fancy that headstock thingy at all. Here's mine:-

    Decent price for LS-200 used

Probably not a great deal of help to you, but FWIW I recently bought a LS125 SEB new for just under ?600 here in the UK. I don't know about the differences in specs vs the LS200, apart from the SEB construction obviously.

    2000 LS-75Q....poly or nitro finish?

My problem with poly finishes on solid bodies concerns the thickness of the finish, which in my opinion can only have a detrimental effect on tone, kind of like a dampening effect if you like. A lot of people prefer thin, matte finishes on guitars and various big manufacturers have brought out...

Just to get things back on track, here's a 1980 LS200 (not mine unfotunately  )
