OK...who bought it? Anyone here? Man if I had the cash I would have scooped it! I love the professionally done checked finish on it as well :)

ooooh, knife in the heart. That is my dream acquisition, and why I hate yahoo.japan so much. It's a tease to know things deals are out there, but just out of reach.

Mmm I would not say that...many bidders are hesitant to throw down a huge bid like that. 124K is not cheap and Burny still is not at the realm of Greco or Tokai for that rare collectible status. It can also be a crap shoot as Burny rarely marked their model numbers on their guitars but I am pretty sure you can see the flame lines traverse into the pup cavity showing that is was a solid top & thus a 120 or 150.

I checked that listing a few times & the top on it seems uninspiring & quite plain for a flame top

I don't know but my guess is that it isn't a solid top = veneer ............

i don't know guys.... I dont see a veneer seam layer anywhere, and I do see some flame travelling down into the cavity, granted it is not extreme flame. Throw in the checking in the top coat, the braided leads (after 2x checking to make sure they are original, which I didnt, but assuming they are)..... I'd vote 120/150. 124,000, what's that, around $1350 US?...................................................... I would have done it... heck, my kids college money is sitting in the bank making .0000000001% anyways

Yeah I agree...I think it was the real deal as well. Sure the flame isn't eye popping but I kind of like it that way. Very Page-esque and I have seen RLG-70's with real eye popping flame and they are all veneer. I think this 120/150 had 1/4 sawn flame maple so it appears to have more flame in certain angles and light etc.
