Pots are from 1988. Seller is calling it a 1985 LS80, but not posting pics of the serial number..

In the pictures on Google Drive you can see that the top is solid, not veneer. Looks like it may be sycamore??

Not sure of the model. LS80? No FEB.

Also note that the abalone Tokai headstock logo is superficial and peeling. First time I have seen that.

This was a weird period and lots of odd examples around. This is definitely one of those.

Tokai TLS-80以上 100 120 1985年製 Love Rock ... - ヤフオク!

Usage status: Although it was released after Lawsuits, it was made in 1985, when the Tokai spirit still remained. I didn't play it much and kept it as part of my collection.
There are some dents on the sides, but the top of the body is in very good condition with no noticeable scratches.
The condition of the neck is almost straight. I confirmed that the truss rod can rotate in either direction.
There are about 80% of the frets left at the point where they are the most reduced.
The string height is approximately 2.0mm on the 1st string side and 1.9mm on the 6th string side above the 12th fret. The weight of the main unit is 3.8kg.
It has a one-piece mahogany back and a one-piece mahogany neck, the head angle is 18 degrees, and the nut width is 43 mm.
In addition, the jack plate had been replaced since it had cracked a long time ago.
There is no special description on the PU, so the details are unknown. I think the bridge is probably original, but the top part looks like it's made of brass. There are no signs that any other

First of all, I don't know the grade. As you can see in the photo, as far as I can see, it doesn't really look like a pasted top (I think the wood grain matches perfectly from the inside to the surface), but I would like someone with specialized knowledge to check the photo. I am. It's a cherry sunburst with elegant heathering and a strong reddish color like a Les Paul from the 1960s, and I think it's pretty cool in terms of appearance.
The second point is that as you can see in the photo, I'm not sure what was done to the logo part of the head, but there is a part on the logo that looks like it's covered with something like a thin film. The previous owner explained that the logo had never been replaced, nor had the cracked head been repaired, and that it had been in this condition from the time he bought it. It is true that some parts of the logo are not covered with something like a film, so there is almost no possibility of it being replaced, and there is also an oval seal mark on the back of the head, so Tokai I have no doubt that it is manufactured. Even when viewed from the back side, there is no evidence that the cracked head has been repaired, and it is unclear how the film-like substance remained.
A certain vendor sells a product under the Grandy brand that is quite similar to this product, and although the characteristics are quite similar, the current situation is that I honestly don't know the details and grade of this product.
I took various photos, so please check them out from the link below.

Hey Cliff,

Any thoughts as to which model it might be?

TLS150 and 200 were spec'd with solid flame tops in 1987.

Pickups look like they might be MKII (gray plastic lead wires).

Mid 80s PAF 57 MKII

Another odd one.
