1979 LS120 OS ?

Can't see the SN

Stamped in the cavity as an LS120, but not on the fretboard.

Finish is sort of yellow similar to cashew over the logo.

No PCB. Caps similar to at least one LS200 I have seen. Seller says previous owner changed the circuit.

Tokai LS-120 Les Paul Reborn 1979年製 バリト... - Yahoo!オークション

Description of item

[Product Description]
This is a Tokai Les Paul Reborn made in 1979.
As you know, it is close to the earliest of the LS series, from the Reborn Old to Love Rock series, and at this time, the grade was not stamped on the fingerboard, but was written inside the cavity of the front pickup, and as shown in the photo, it was LS. -120 stamps can be confirmed.
Needless to say, the Les Paul models made by Tokai from this period were extremely well-built, and you can clearly see the passion of the makers to make them lifelong companions. To be honest, it was a piece that I didn't want to part with, but for financial reasons, I decided to give it away as a memento to someone who would be able to take over it.

[Product condition]
As you can see in the photo, there is a lot of weather check on it, giving it a dignified appearance, but other than that, there are no major scratches, and considering its age as a lacquered guitar, I think it falls into the category of beautiful condition.
The top is a 2-piece maple piece with an extremely round frame. It seems that there are many pieces of 120 that are made of glued maple, but this one is made of maple with a thickness of about 10 mm, as you can see in photo 7, and no matter how you look at it, it doesn't look like glued maple (this is just my personal opinion) ).
The back and neck are made of fine-grained, high-quality mahogany (I don't know if it's made in Honduras), the fingerboard is rosewood with a beautiful grain, and the frets haven't worn down that much either, with about 80% remaining in my opinion. I think that there.
The Tokai logo on the head is an engraved type, the pegs are a rare 2-knot Kluson type with the Tokai stamp, and the pickup is an old original Dimarzio PAF square foot type. The bridge was changed to a Gibson one by the previous owner, and the studs were also replaced at that time.
The plating on the tailpiece has peeled off and the bare aluminum is exposed, and there is a MADE IN JAPAN stamp on it, but I don't know if it is original or not. The inside of the cavity has been painted with conductive paint, the circuit has been changed from the original board type to a CTS 500kΩ one by the previous owner, and the capacitor has also been changed (Black Beauty??). The nut has been changed, and the pickguard has also been changed to a thick and sturdy one to meet Tokai specifications.
All parts removed by the previous owner and carried over will be included as accessories.
The weight is 4.2 kg as measured using a home scale.
