I am looking at a mint condition Springy Sound and I don't know which pickups it has. They aren't stamped that I can see..
The number 55 is stamped into the last fret. Beautiful maple fretboard and natural top. It's supposed to be a 1980 model.
Is this a bad move?

That depends mostly on the price! Got any pictures? The more details the better!
(Neckplate, bridge saddles, headstock front and back, |screwdriver required from here| neck pocket, neck heel markings, body routings and markings, back of the pickguard showing the electronics, close shots of the pot stamps/markings, basically everything containing something letters, symbols or hierogyphs.)

Thanks for the quick responses!

I purchased what was advertised as the N65, but the guitar
is really a 55. Not what I wanted, but the guy I got it from is accusing
me of being a tire kicker. So, I'm having to go through PP to
get my money back. He has been very disrespectful and arrogant
from the very start. I'm a disabled Vietnam era Vet, and he's made comments
about me being a crooked old man, etc.

Suffice it to say, I'm going to return it. It's not the 65. From this experience,
I don't think he can be trusted.

The guys name is (name deleted by moderator), and he runs an online store called the (sellers name deleted by moderator).
based in Florida.
Not somebody or somewhere you want to do business with.

I'm still going to get a high end Springy Sound if I can find one.

I bought a guitar from him and he was great actually.

I would rather not have this devolve into personal attacks or public shaming about any one person in particular.

If it does I will delete the posts.

The listing says ST65 and 55.

It also says "CBS Style Strat" in the title which is easy to see is wrong.

I see the serial number now.

The serial number he listed, 0012899, is wrong.

It is hard to see, but clearly last two digits are 00.

The other digits don't add up either.

That's weird.

Looks like 93200 are the last five digits???

If so, that is way off of anything I have seen.

It honestly looks like 8393200 which sounds crazy and makes no sense at all.

Would be great to have a photo of the neck plate if you have the guitar in your possession now.

And I am confused... You said it was a 55 in your first post noting a fretboard stamp.

Then you said you were upset because you bought it and it is a 55?

Can you help square those two things?

And the photo is unclear. Can't see the first digit.

We immediately asked you questions and got no response.

That day or the next day, yesterday, you bought it?

Then decided you didn't want it before it was even shipped?

I am confused about what is going on.

It was listed as an ST55 or 65. You said it was a 55 in your original post. Then you said you didn't want it because it was a 55?

And to clarify, there is a long standing policy on here of not naming sellers we have a problem with. Many people have been banned for it. I deleted his name from your posts for that reason and locked this thread.
