I think it's cool that Tokai made these:

Looks just like my 87. Seller gives the plate number as 21244, bet they missed a number off. The later eighties script logo is a brighter gold than the first ones which are silvery, otherwise exactly the same.

It's a maple board, so 5 digit is in line with the Fender numbering system.

That would date it to before early 1986 based on what I have seen.

Yes you are right. I think the bright gold logo must've started when they changed to 'quality instruments of the world'. £250 is a good price, I'd have it if it were closer and I'm not a lefty!

The 6 digits starting with 2xxxxx start by May of 1986 or so based on what I have seen:

Yes must be 84/85/early 86 then... unless he has left a number off.

Still not sure what to make of it? Might be the wrong neck plate.

There’s also a maple board lefty in that other thread with an L serial neck plate.

I have seen weird things that probably originated at the factory. Hard to say.

Just on the different colour logos, I note my 83 logo decal is not one piece like all the other later ones I've seen. Just came across this thread where it's noted that the 83 script goldstar fanatic decals were 3 piece, then they went into one piece. Maybe it's just the one piece decals that have silvery logo. deffo not many about.
