Joe, people in their 40s grew up in the west with Japanese Datsun and other cars and Japanese anime like Astro Boy, Gigantor (Tetsujin 28-go), Kimba the White Lion and then there was a Japanese show with American marine like fighters that could jump backwards up trees and stuff, I'd like to know the name of that one because I've completely forgotten.
Sometimes I watch some Japanese animated features on one of our stations and Patrick Stewart from Star trek turns up doing the translated voices in some of them.

And then there were Japanese guitars as well.
My first real guitar was a Ibanez.
Back then I was in school and a Gibson or a Fender was just a dream.
Anyway after a bit of a rocky start in the 60s the Japanese have always been known for their quality.
I have 3 Japanese guitars now and I have Japanese made Yamaha and Yanagisawa saxes.

Great info! MIC is slightly a turn-off, can't help it.

I really like Japan, some way most of my guitars are MIJ, it just happend. And btw even my DOG is Japanese, it's an Akita Inu. Heh.

Off topic yes, sorry.

:) thank you very much for super nice comments here about japan.

they be so glad and happy. is anyone reading this in japan beside me?
its just good to know the world is getting very friendly and sharing
each other lately. hope someday china is stable like japan is now.

The Phantom Agents(Ninja Butai Gekko)..."remember...a gun is our last resort".

We also had "The Samurai".
Those two shows started me on my path to the martial arts...without running around the backyard after an episode calling out to "Tombe the Mist" I wouldn't be a 3rd Dan(Yudansha)today :D

Oz, your a genius.

I've been trying to get the name of that show for a while.

One of my favourite shows when I was a kid.

Well he's wrong, he doesn't say anything about Tokai either and they are made in Japan, Korea and china. Joe got his info straight from ESP and it is correct.

Mick

And Kibune Shrine in Kyoto...I love Kyoto...the historical parts anyways.

When I first started playing online games my name used to be Shintaro.
When I went to Japan(Okinawa) to train one time,my Instructor at the Jundokan
senseiandstatue.jpg
Eiichi Miyazato was "amused" by the fact that I "wasted my time" computer gaming whn I could be using the time to train harder" and he christened me "Aussie Shin".
I changed the "aussie" to "Oze"....Shin in Japanese can mean "Spirit" so basically my name means "Aussie "Spirit".
I've used the "OzeShiN" name in ALL my dealings on the net for years and if you google it there's a crapload of pages...mostly gaming, guitars and Karate.
