Does Tokai still make a decent Strat copy?

Hello, I am brand new to the forum, and its my first posting !

I have read a fair bit about Tokai guitars, but was wondering if Tokai
continues to make a replica/copy of the Fender Stratocaster.

Thanks for any information.

The Strat copies are not available in the US but they are available from Canadian dealers. I've got a Korean model that is pretty sweet for how cheap it was. They also make Japanese models.

I have a 2002 japanese AST-50 Goldstar Sound strat and it's a great guitar. The only thing I don't like is the 5-way switch which is a cheap one, I will replace it with a Centralabs (USA) switch. It's surf green with a one piece mapleneck, the body wood is alder. The tuners are the vintage "Kluson" type.

THanks for the info. From what I have read I should keep my eyes open then for an AST-50.

Does anyone know any good Canadian dealers of Tokai guitars? I live in the Toronto area (Mississauga).

I went out to SongBird Music in Toronto tonight. Thier website showed three Tokai Goldstar's ( Black, Red, Sunburst ) ...each $519 Canadian.

I picked up the Sunburst one...its a beauty. I think I got a pretty good price.
