How about the Kasuga "zipper" :D

As far as tuners go, there should NORMALLY be the DELUXE stamped tuners on these, but I've seen a couple of SGs with "weird" specs from this time having these these double-ring tuners. Could be stock.

    Fernandes Identification

1988 RTE-50 '76. @Sigmania: two string trees = '76 model, which came later than the catalog page you posted. The '76 was first shown in the '85 catalog as the RTE-45 in white, with only black or white permitted as finishes, later listed in '87 as the RTE-50 '76 with natural finish and Sen wood...

    Burny SG Super Grade MiJ?

Yes. No "SuperGrade" marked SG models made in Japan.

    Burny Super Grade 90s??

Late 92-early 93 would be a possible timeframe, with the yellow caps, "crescent moon" on the r, lack of datestamp etc.

Dyna started building in 1987, but of course did most of their work for Fernandes in the 90's.

Burny with single screw truss rod cover

Kasuga route, which would be normal for 1983.

Any photo of the back of the tuners?

It's 1983, not 1993. If you have a look at the pots over time you'll see that the placement of the date moves to the left and the K changes slightly, from having the lower stroke to come out from the upper stroke to being more like the strokes meeting in the middle. I think the latest I've seen...

I'm back with a new purchase: '80s Burny RLG 50 from Ishibashi

Winged bell, plaintop and old logo cut - most likely 1989.

    Fernandes Revival TL-62 identification

Same as those 80's bluebursts... many have turned green over time. They had some green finishes, but not for these models.

    Fernandes Revival TL-62 identification

That was probably me... The serials in the 90's are purely sequential and apparently affixed at warehouse level. That means that some guitars will have build dates that are earlier than the sticker. An example of this is the ZZ Top promo tele they made for the Antenna album, which mainly has...

    Fernandes Revival TL-62 identification

The 90's are a flurry of non-Fernandes specific models, with production by the regular Fender makers Fujigen and Dyna. Stamps vary over time, and sometimes it looks like discontinued Fender models. At this time, this line wasn't really Fernandes' bread and butter, but something I think they felt...

Chushin (?) Built Fernandes Stone Logo Thru Neck Guitars & Basses

With Fernandes sometimes having more than one supplier for certain products, I think we'll have to go over all the available material and segment them into variations. I may even have data to verify that some (like the one with the larger pickup routes) were modified etc.

Chushin (?) Built Fernandes Stone Logo Thru Neck Guitars & Basses

Thanks, this is great info. I know we looked at Fresher builds before, but apparently didn't have enough to pin it to Chushin (maybe the differing routs as you mention in the last post). These models were rather short lived as well, and with Chushin joining in to pick up the slack after Tokai on...

1985 Snakebit Snakeskin TLC Les Paul Custom

Actually, he had the Orange from earlier and traded it with me for some other stuff before this one came on. I was the one who bought this lot (to get the first Orange catalog) and gave him some of the other stuff.
