LC-100 Black Beauty 1981

Post by _JDZ » Mon Apr 15, 2019 8:28 pm

These seem to be very hard to find. Missed out on one months ago, but this one is nicer than expected.

Made in 81 and sold in 82.

Will need to keep my eye open for correct truss rod cover, otherwise looks all original.

Congrats for such a great and rare guitar. I do love Customs (the real ones 1 piece body no cap)

I've had three of these, they all had a 1-piece mahog back with a 1-piece mahog cap.

Just lovely! Are these generally heavier due to the all mahogany body?

My ES100 has the same weird logo, very interested to hear the story behind this.

Thanks! That inlay shows up in later 81 catalog and in 82.
It is inspired by Les Paul Artisan - google the Gibson, very similar headstock.

Just tokai copying Gibson. Google gibson artisan.
"The Les Paul Artisan was a more expensive/elaborate variation of the Les Paul Custom and was advertised as a limited-edition model between 1976 and 1982"
