Post by pepiman » Sun Sep 14, 2014 11:04 am

Sorry for asking im new to bass playing & so on this forums, i've seen guys selling basses saying its a legit tokai but noticed it has no serial, no made in japan or what so ever sticker or print, the TOKAI was only a decal..please help/teach me how to identify a real/legit tokai bass form fake ones.. Thank You in advance to those who can help me :D

We really need photo to identify a genuine Tokai. Check the tokai registry to give you some pointers. I would keep the original pickup on your bass as tokai pickups are usually pretty good.

Have a guitar tech check it out.Should`nt be a big problem..The original pickup will be good trust me. your bass should sound something like a Music Man.Gabe.

Pepiman is trying to wire up the pickup in his TokaiMBx 55 bass .its a humbucker and has a 2pcs 250k pots and 1 pull/push .Any suggestions welcome please as guitar techs are few and far between in the Phillipines. Link to photo of the pickup above. Gabe.
