jazz sound

Hi There guys,

so i ran into a tokai jazz sound bass which i can buy.
the current owner tells me it a tokai jazz sound bass from 1980.
i tried checking the serial on the back plate but cant realy find any info on this.

can anyone please help me and tell me if this is legit.?

No idea what that is.

Neck with slab board and large 1966/67 block fret markers is odd with the spaghetti logo.

Serial number is odd and too low on the neck plate.

To me it looks like someone is trying to pass off a bass as a Tokai that isn’t.

For reference here is the 1981 catalog.

Yeah. It's not a 1981 Tokai. That is for sure. No idea what it actually is.
