Hi Mark, maybe a little gets lost in translation but Joe knows his stuff. He is friends with Tokai's top luthier and sees a lot of these high end guitars that we only get to read about. I have learned more here from Joe than any other person on the forum. Thanks for sharing Joe...

Mick

Thanks guys for all the insight and info.
I will pursue the links and learn as much as I can. From all this I think it is best that I go ahead and pick this guitar up, respect it as a special piece and share the stories with my guitar buddies when I return to the states.

I must comment that in all my guitar dealings at many of the local stores the Japanese sales help have been great. Knowledgeable, respectful and sometimes ready to bargain a bit on price. That latter always sweetens the purchase. If only I could speak their language..

Cheers, thanks again

mick, i have actually owned and played all these high end guitars, I make a point of buying anything new and special that comes out from tokai ...

I am not friends with any of tokai's top luthiers, but i do have experience of all their best products..both neo select, and the LS-1 ES-1 and LS-custom models, and previously i have owned around 15 LS-320's, so I am speaking from an owners and players experience here...

its my job...my passion, and a constant delight, in my view, if you don't actually own and play them then your viewpoint on what may or may not be is irrelevant, because how can someone judge something without trying it?

8) it doesnt matter exactly if you actually have this guitar or that guitar
to understand what is this guitar or that guitar all about. as long as you know
it and you can tell it by all your true quality. i am 37 this year and have been
playing the guitar since i was 15. have had many guitars here in japan
and there in usa over 50 easily. i had been working for the music store
around this tokyo-yokohama area for almost a decade til a few years ago.
saw million guitars and played too much. thought and studied million times
about many guitars. this is what easily happens when you work for the music
store. villager's past hundreds or so experiences are something but
working for the store for many years everyday easily exceeds everything so easy.
but thats the work and life so nothing special and what we do everyday.
there are a lot of pros in the business you know. many kinds of pros
who does a lot of good efforts to the guitar world. they do those for good
people and their guitars, not for themselves. ones who do good for himself
only are bad ones ofcourse. we aren't talking about those but good ones
ofcourse. you know good people and bad people, good things and bad things
in everywhere. i dont have any tokai guitars right now but have
about 15 american guitars including 2 historic collection les paul sunbursts.
each cost more than $9000 a piece even in the 90s. all the others are also excellent
and my good guitars really. i am kinda a hardcore guitar fan and especially
for the gibson custom shop stuff which always costs thousands of dollars
not hundreds of dollars like the used japanese guitars do. so the economy
never catches up quite when too many gibson custom shop guitars
are coming out especially lately for the past several years. however i have been
looking for some, only few good old tokais myself personally someday anytime laters so
thats me about tokai. i am pretty picky for my kind of the guitars so
unless i meet mine exactly i dont get em. since they are mostly all used
already so thats another reason not to be rush. it takes a long time to
meet our ideal guitars u know. anyways some little stories of mine here.
about togps. maybe a bit too much but i was talking something there
about something we know off the forum, not on the forum. or on the
forum often? anyways those who know what it was about know what.....
i have several deep buddys from this forum and we all know those things.
and i guess more know too. dont worry i am basically leaving here soon
just staying here for my last time to leave some good useful infos for
good people here. so let go now. its ok. sorry for som fuss sometimes.
i had to be honest and those here who are honest know how i felt
i guess......like how tokai made it........."quality before quantity"........
right? maybe "truth before BS"?...............j

Guys..over the past few days there have been more squabbles on these forums than I care to see.
I would ask people to refrain from personal attacks on other members OR to take it to PM/email if you really MUST continue being nasty.
I'd hate to start editing posts again.
Now I know there was a very recent episode of myself abusing a new-ish member....but I looked at it as a scolding.
He was welcome to continue posting so long as he kept it honest...he felt that he couldn't do that and has left.
As I said..Joe..please refrain from publicly airing your grievances with Gottfried and take it to email or pm's.
Cheers m8,

I'm learning a whole new language here

It's just taken me two years to understand Chav talk, now I'm onto Germanese

The search for elusive LS-5 Pacifix Exclusive data is slowly coming along.. I have contacted the Pacifix company and the reply has been received. Now I need to have it translated (this weekend)
After acquiring '59 dimensional info from the web I did some neck measurements. It fits within the parameters of a handmade '59. Some info I can verfiy is as follows. Fret size is 213 (larger size) The weight is within a couple ounces. It has Tom Holmes replica '59 PAF pups, J-450 & J-455. The description states it is Violin Finish. I need more research to determine the material.
The hard case is a '59 replica. It just happens there is a orginal '59 case on eBay to use for comparison. Cool.

I will post more info soon.

Mark

Anyone know what (if any) differences there are between the Pacifix Exclusive and the Mizuno Exclusive LS-1?

What are the prices of those LS-1, LS-2 and LS-3?

I've been after a LS-250 but I could perfectly jump on one of these pacifix series. 8)
