i must admit to having a bit of a blind spot as far as the Damned are concerned!
i know Brian James is a stooges/mc5 guy but i think i never got over;

a) how crap the second album was
b) the move into psycadelia/prog/goth type music.

I am probably doing them a great disservice and know what great reviews the "machine gun etiqette" re-release has had so i will try to swallow my prejudice and look out for it.

i was lucky to be 18 in 1977 so saw just about every punk band live that year including the damned/adverts tour of summer '77 and the damned were absolutely brilliant which confuses me even more as i lost interest in them around "problem child" time!

sorry to hear of your redundancy, the good guys usually end up ok so you will be fine.
