I saw today that Asda (the UK Wal-Mart!) are selling a strat style electric guitar and amp bundle for ?50 
Aside from the moral issue of sweatshop labour, I don't have a problem with cheap guitars being sold.
My first guitar cost around ?130 new (Tanglewood katana, mid 90's), plus the ?40 cost of the 5w practice amp. So a beginner can now learn to play for less than 1/3 of what I had to pay. This is good. Gets kids playing guitars.
Anyway, the point of me starting this thread was to ask if anyone has seen a new guitar for any cheaper, or if this is rock bottom. I was really shocked at ?50, wonder if I can be shocked further
