Zinky Superfly!!!!!!!
Bruce Zinky used to run the Fender Amp Custom Shop in the '90s when they were in Scottsdale. Now he builds his own up in Flagstaff, AZ. He is perhaps best known for his Smoky mini-amps. I think he's made some stuff for the Rev, in fact he told me that whenever ZZ comes to town he comes down to Phoenix and escorts the man around town (if you're listening Hans and all you other Rev afficionados).
The Superfly is a programmable tube amp. The busines side is all analog, but it has a digital memory interface that drives the (discrete) pot settings. Basically it is like a tube Line6 (without the effects).
It is incredible. It has 6 different gain structures so you can go from pristine Fender clean to super tube crunch and anything in between. Its 12AX7/5881 (6L6) based. And you can save up to 32 presets and get your sounds at the touch of a midi button. I sound like a salesman I know, but I just love this amp. I've been playing it for a good couple of years now and I'm still not over it!
I've also got a Zinky Blue Velvet, which is an 18 W 1 x 12 combo that I play at home. I was looking for something for a while, and kind of wanted to stretch out but there was just no denying it here either!
Bruce is a great guy too. Excellent customer sevice. He did a mod for me on a Saturday one time while my wife and I went for a hike!
I'm not sure how he is doing financially, but I'd really like to see him succeed. Spread the word across the globe!
