I always wondered if Tokai offered an SG in the early 80s. That is a beautiful guitar!

You need to use acetone and not alcohol to test for lacquer. Alcohol won’t remove the lacquer.

Thanks for confirmed that this picture was from a mid-1983 catalog, don’t know how I missed that. I thought it was a 1984 catalog

That's a hard catalog to find. I am still looking for a hard copy myself. The copy I have I downloaded from VintAxe.
