I have a few questions surrounding the LS135. This one has a little dimple in the headstock, and the following serial: 1022xxx.

So i know the 10 at the start of the serial makes it a 2010 guitar, but how do i tell if this is a UK LS135 or a Japaneese 135?
What are differences?

Sorry to resurrect this thread again.

My Tokai is scheduled to arrive tomorrow. I want to do some checks to be sure of the model.

Aside from looking at the features ( tennon length, finish and a few other things), is there a definite way to know the model number? based on the serial number perhaps?

I ask becase from browsing other forums i see that even retailers make mistakes on what models they are selling.

AFAIK there is no lacquer finished LS135 made in 2010, and it would be called a 160 ( despite richtone saying its a 135 . i didnt get this off richtone, but they are the top of the google search list ).

If it is and the serial number is 2010 you got a nice guitar and a bargain which I'm sure is the case.

is there a different model set for Uk than japan?

Im pretty convinced its a lacquer, long tennon guitar, but i dont know what is the offical model.

Yes, I know where the catalogues are :wink:

The UK model is LS135 if the spec's do match. IMHO you've got the best value for money spec there is and yes it should have a nitro top coat.

The UK models can be slightly different from Japan for export but the main difference is the addition of the nipple to the headstock for copyright reasons. The nearest current Japan spec is now the LS160. This is because the model reflects the price which with inflation tends to increase so LS160 is 160,000 yen.
