Hi Folks.

Just a chance to share my Tokai story with folk who might be interested.

Having worked all summer in a stinking plastics factory in 1988 aged 16, I had some cash to burn. Being a fan of Buddy Holly, I wanted a strat as an upgrade from my Hohner Les Paul. I stumbled across a used (with slightly damaged paint) metalic red Tokai Strat in my local music shop and coughed up ?175 for it there and then.

I played the guitar in my rock band for about 7 years until that ended and during that time the colour changed from red to silver to yellow to purple. I had a number of chances to chop it in for a Fender Strat but never found one that felt better than the Tok.

A few years ago I chose to do one last paint job in Nitro, it sat stripped in my spare room in a pile of bits for some time but it once again lives. I nearly did it met red again but was never fond of the original colour and I'll never sell it due to the memories so did what I wanted.

Enjoy!

I always thought it's a TST-50 and made in 1984 but could be wrong. Serial number is:19432.

Cheers,
Adam.
