Ochay

Glad the 120 turned out to be a good'un. :)

Thanks to all for the additonal education this thread has provided me with.

Lets see more of those top end Tokai's come out the woodwork.

hey togps ...sorry to say this ..but your statement way back when about all LS-120 and above having extended tenon is incorrect ...I just took apart my new 1980 LS-150..(original purchase card with matching ser no and 150 sticker trace readable on neck back...) and there is no extended tenon... I suggest you have a good hard look at your 120's and scrape away a bit of dust at the edge of the cavity...I am pretty sure you will find the join is there ...just hidden by great woodwork/dust/glue...I am yet to see an extended tenon on an early tokai... but I haven't taken apart my reborn 200 as yet...

HEY, ochay, you are wrong. Both of them feature deep joint !!

seems like you have the only 1981 LS120 in the world that has a Deep neck tendon-
The 8 1981 LS 120's I own all stop at the neck pickup cavity?????

1980 LS-150 tenon

absolutely, positively not a long tenon, or even a slightly extended one...

LS-200 checking now...

Jeez villager- can you make that 1's pic any more blurred?
But again I say "You are tha MAN !!"
Now gimme that LS 200 !!!

togps-
Looks like you might have the only one in existence??
All of these have the same Neck tenon !
I probably could use a REBORN Case???

1. So it seems my high end LP's with long tennon are very rare?
That makes me ofcourse able to rise my asking price.
2. BTW, in mid of January I'll get some more high end 1980 LP's in.
ASAP I'll post pics of the neck cavities.
3. ochay, villager, who wants now the bulk of Vintage OHC's??

4. Villager, should I offer you a camera too? (re your clear neck cavity pics  )

sorry togps I was in a hurry ..you can see well enough though can't you....i suggest you do a bit of scraping at the botton of your 'long tenons' hehe..

I really don't need 15 cases... 5 maybe..

If anybody wants to offer me a camera ( or a Tokai, or anything that comes for free) I'll be glad to receive it! :D

There's a lot of posturing going on in this thread.

Regardless it's been useful and I've come to a conclusion. With a used Historic, you know exactly what neck tenon you're getting without having to yank the neck pickup out.
