OK...might be a tough one, but how can a Greco that has no more sticker behind the headstock be identified?. Right now only info the seller can give me his the serial wich is 0 8057, and that it's supposely a Mint Collection model, but he can not tell me other info. appart from the picts naturally wich i can upload tomorrow since they are on my other PC?

Thanks guys...this place is a wealth of info..:)

Ask what are the pickups could help.
Look for a sticker at pu bottom, something like "dry 82", "screaming 82"...

There are other ways too.
Please link a picture here may be we can help.

Pick-up have been changed so they are not original. Changed to Dimarzio Virtual Paff. Here are the picts i received. More should be on the way if seller can take a few more.

it's the sunburst on the left by the way..:)

Veneer then it can be high end model.
I wonder if it's a hollow body..
May be an EG59-45.

i'm thinking its 1977 to 1980. EG700? Maybe higher model?

No "Les Paul" (or something like that) script on headstock, and grover style pegs.

Pickups U2 or U2000?

Mint Collection is different logo, the "o" is cut. here look,

Pups are actually dimarzio, and grover tuners were an addition. not original. with this serial, 0 8057 , should be 1980.

Seller is asking 575$ for it without the case.!

More picts of the mentionned Axe here

hmmm, might be one of those "transitional" Greco's we've read about. (Where they were going from one form of labeling to another)

Great price! Nice LP!

(might be one level below "Super Real")

Whataya waiting for? :D

Thing is i HATE buying something without knowing exactly WHAT it is

Unfortunately, the different models of Greco LP's were identified by the pickups, that is the only definitive way of knowing.

The Super Real 1800's had solid tops and the Dry Z pu's. There were a few different ranges below, with veneered tops and all with different pu level's.

I suppose you can't play it first. Too bad, because that is a very nice price.

Good luck!

Mint Collection started in 1982, not 1980.

It is possible it's a 1990. They went back to a "closed o" then. And I was under the impression they didn't have long tenons in 1980, but doweled joints instead.

Hopefully a real expert will weigh in.

With the cracked top, I'd offer $500 with case - or forgetahboutit. There's plenty of Grecos.
