I have a couple of questions regarding burny customs and other brands as well, I realize some old burnys have mahogany tops. Do they have a mahogany top, glued to the mahogany back, like a maple top, or is the mahogany the same piece as the body, much like the real 50's customs?

Another question is related to other "old" japanese brands, are the customs by greco, tokai, etc etc mahogany topped too? I know tokai nowadays has two mahogany top models in their line, but I'm curious about old ones.

thanks

Well, I have a BURNY RLC-60, I guess from 1981-83, and it has a two piece, not center seamed, MAHOGANY cap, I know because I scrapped a bit of the paint inside the pickup cavity and it is mahogany
Just like the catalogue from that year says, for what it's worth.
It sounds quite different from my other maple capped BURNY FLG-90 from 1980, just like a vintage Custom should........
