Awful guitar names

Every time I see the advert for Gibson's "Dusk Tiger" ( :roll: ) on this forum I just can't believe they managed to come up with a name so awful it would be shunned even by supermarket's-own-brand deodorants.

Are there any other unfortunately named guitar models out there?

"Springy Sound"? "Breezy Sound"? "Love Rock"?

Of course I love them all (especially Love Rock, which sounds more than a little rude!).

I think Springy Sound is the best guitar name since Stratocaster - inspired. 8)

Jazzmaster may have been a decent name, but it turned out to be inapparopraite - how many jazz players ever used a JM? Maybe it should have been the Fender Indie?

The most unfortunate guitar name I've ever come across was Avon. Not because it was bad name (unless you want your guitar to be named after cheap perfume) but because the guitars were truly, deeply awful.

I suppose you're right though blake - Dusk Tiger is too bad a name even for cheap perfume! :lol:

That's about the only German word I can ever remember!

Can I nominate most of the Fender range of amps from back in the day? Excellent amps, but the names? Various permutations of Super this, Twin that, Vibro something else, Pro whatever. And a whole family of Champs. Names guaranteed to tell you virtually nothing useful about the amp. :roll:
