Hi,
Just wondering if anyone knows anything about these:

and:

From the serial numbers they look like they're from 1978. The ST-60 doesn't have grey pickups, so I'm guessing they've been swapped, but the ST-42 looks correct-grey U pickups (non kluson-type tuners because of lower model). I've never come across documentation of this type of serial number before, but I'm wondering if this is a result of early production. Funny that there are 2 on ebay at once! If anyone has any info on these I'd appreciate it!

Oops--small amendment...
The serial number on these is on the back of the neck, hidden by the neck pocket (there is reverse ink transfer into the neck pocket on the ST-60) . The ST-60 has the model number stamped in the neck pocket, while the ST-42 seems to have it's model stamped in the neck pickup pocket--can't tell from the photos if it's duplicated in the neck pocket as well. Anyway, again just wondering if anyone knows if these are legit, and if so how long were they made like this? Assuming they are legit, is there any extra value to these for being early issues and therefore rarer? Note also the truss rod stamp on the neck end is different from a usual Springy's on the ST-42 (can't be seen on the ST-60).....
Thanks again!
