    From the Toronto Guitar Show

I was at the Toronto Guitar Show yesterday and saw a Goldstar Sound for sale. The price was $950.00 which I personally think is a little on the high side, but then again when I bought my Goldstar Sound back in 1985 I paid $250.00 for it. :) Because this Goldie at the guitar show was in a tight...

    From my inbox

A few years ago I bought an external hardware device for my computer, a Korg Nanopad2 (can be used for inputting drum sounds, patterns, etc.) and included in the box was a card to get Toontracks EZ Drummer 2 for free with a coupon code. I also signed up for e-mail alerts and I've found that...

    Logical Moderne

Well, yesterday (September 9th, 2011) I bought a guitar at Steves Music Store here in Toronto. It's made by a new company called Logical who are based out in Vancouver, B.C. and it's their take on the Gibson Moderne. I had previously tried it out the week before and I liked the feel, action and...

The Goldstar Sound I bought for $250.00

Seeing as how this is my 100th post I figured I'd make it special and show and tell you about the very first Tokai I bought back in 1985 for $250.00. The ad was originally posted in the Buy & Sell newspaper and at that time I'd heard of Tokais but I never saw or tried one out. So I went to this...

    Interesting Article

This was posted by somebody on another forum I visit. It's basically about ambient guitar and it mentions Brian Eno, Robert Fripp, The Edge of U2, David Bowie, Bill Nelson, etc. as well as a couple of Canadians, Daniel Lanois and Michael Brook. Now I'm sure most of you have heard of Daniel...

    Not sure about this one

Check out the headstock in the photos. It looks more like an Epiphone headstock than a Tokai one. http://cgi.ebay.ca/Tokai-LP-Les-Paul-style-Guitar_W0QQitemZ220185738398QQihZ012QQcategoryZ2384QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

    Rosie

Well everybody, here's the latest addition to my "guitarsenal". :) It's a 2007 Dillion Rosewood "Rosie" guitar patterned after the one that George Harrison used in the "Let It Be" sessions with the Beatles. First a little backstory on why I got this guitar. I didn't want to go the obvious...

    My latest addition.

I bought this one from SneakyJapan. It's from 2001 and it arrived a couple of weeks ago. I currently have it in the shop to fix some minor intonation problems and also a general setup. I didn't get a shot of the back but the serial number is 0104583. It plays and sounds just as good as it looks.

Bacchus SRV Relic Style Strat at Songbird Music (Toronto)

I check out the Songbird Music website from time to time and I got a bit of a pleasant surprise. They have a Bacchus SRV "Relic-ed" Strat on consignment there and they're asking $1295.00 Canadian for it. Unfortunately there's no picture of it on the website but I did see it in person at the...

    Lefty Alert. (Toronto)

I was over at Encore Music Exchange in Scarborough earlier this afternoon and they have a left handed Goldstar Sound near the back of the store. I didn't examine it too closely but it does have the "Oldies But Goodies" sticker near the top of the headstock. I didn't check to see if it had "Final...

Newer Goldtop Love Rock at Song Bird Music (Toronto)

I just got back from Song Bird Music as I had to get a new guitar strap for my recently purchased Love Rock from Pegcityrocker and I found a really good deal for anybody living in or around the Toronto area. They have a newer model Tokai Love Rock Goldtop there (the kind with the dimple in the...

One to watch, "Vintage" brand guitars.

I came across these guitars when I was at a guitar shop here in Toronto called Ring Music. These guitars are made in Vietnam and the hardware and pickups are designed by Trevor Wilkinson. Not only do they have a regular lineup of Strat and Les Paul types but they also have "Relic" type guitars...

Question and some info about my Tokai Springy Sound.

I mentioned this before but I'm thinking of selling my Springy Sound. It's my least used guitar and I've already got a Goldstar Sound and a Fender Strat but I'd like to ask the experts on this forum about how much it would be worth? Here's the info about it. I originally bought it a few years...

    Anybody want a Reborn?

Check it out. A guy in Montreal is selling one and as of this posting there's a little over 6 hours left. http://cgi.ebay.ca/RARE-1980-TOKAI-REBORN-OLD-LOVE-ROCK-59-REPLICA-WOW_W0QQitemZ180073086096QQihZ008QQcategoryZ2384QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

    My Tokai Dilemma.

Well maybe "Dilemma" is a bit strong but I need some advice. I already posted about the fact that Steves music store in downtown Toronto has 2 left handed Tokai Love Rock guitars over in the "Sightings" section of the group but on that same day (Saturday) I also headed over to Song Bird Music...

    For all you lefties.

Hi, I'm new here and I just thought I'd give a headsup to the left handed Tokai Love Rock users. (And you know who you are. :) ) I was at Steves music store in downtown Toronto on the weekend and they have two of the newer Love Rock Tokais in left handed versions. They're reasonably priced as...
