These seem to date to 1991- 2004.

ESP made Seymour Duncan Fender copy guitars during this period.

I just spotted this on the mylespaul forum. Kind of explains the change in the headstock.

“Seymour Duncan has a deep relationship with ESP. ESP is Seymour Duncan's exclusive distributor in Japan. ESP's guitar brands: ESP, LTD, Schecter, Edwards and Navigator use Seymour Duncan pickups. ESP produced Seymour Duncan-brand guitars for some time until Fender asserted their headstock shape trademarks in Japan. And the owner of ESP owns Musician's Institute in Hollywood and I serve on their board of directors.”

I have seen some on this forum that say they are 2000-2003 guitars with Fender correct headstocks.

This post is more specific, but I don’t know how accurate it is so use caution.

It does say ESP stopped making Seymour Duncan Fender replica guitars in 2004.

https://www.tdpri.com/threads/seymour-duncan-made-a-guitar.1047073/

Seymour Duncan Models
ESP luthiers also made a lesser-known brand under the name of “Seymour Duncan," from the mid-1990s until 2004. You won’t find them in any ESP catalog or anywhere on-line, except maybe in Japanese guitar shops that specialize in used guitars. Seymour Duncan is written as the actual logo on the headstock of these guitars.

There are two different series of Seymour Duncans; the "professional series," which sold between $2,000 - $3,000, and the "traditional series," which was marketed in the $900 - $1,500 price range.

The traditional series featured SD SSL-1 pickups while the more expensive professional series came with SD Alnico II single coil pickups.

If a guitar is from the traditional series, it will say so on the headstock. If it just says “Seymour Duncan,” then it is the more expensive model.

ESP only made Fender replicas under the Seymour Duncan brand.

The most common model numbers were DS-100, DS-180, DS-200 and DS-280Pro for Stratocasters, DT-100, DT-200 and DT-280Pro for Telecasters. Bass guitar models were DPB, for the Precision Bass line and DJB for the Jazz Bass line.

ESP discontinued Seymour Duncan Fender replicas in 2004.

ESP continues, however, to make bass guitars using the Seymour Duncan logo, but these bass guitars are not Fender replicas like their predecessors, although they uphold their tradition of being exceptionally nice bass guitars.

Seymour Duncan Jazz Bass

Product description

This is a Seymour Duncan Jazz Bass type bass.

This is a very old Seymour Duncan bass. The neck date looks like '83. I can't tell if it's an 8 or a 9, The pot date is 1984, so the body was manufactured in 1983. I suspect that this is an individual that was installed over the years. We are not sure if it may have been made in 1993.

I believe this bass is from a period after the UBI SOUND/Yubi Onkyo production period, during the Seymour Duncan/ESP production period, so I think it's a very valuable bass.

It's a completely different production from the traditional period.

I don't know the details, so if anyone knows, please let me know.

All parts appear to be original, but since it was purchased second hand I don't know if it has any repair history.

Thanks guys-- I appreciate it.
Although on this gtr the headstock says Seymour Duncan, one thing that threw me off was there being no Seymour Duncan stamp on the bare wood of the neck joint.
The body joint is totally unmarked. It's plain, bare wood, but the neck has a handwritten marking in Japanese that says "Duncan" (in katakana) and ("measured" to fit Duncan) in kanji followed by a K in a circle.
I thought the body was one piece, but it you look very closely, it's a two-piecer.
It was buzzing a bit too much for me, but that was remedied with a maple shim.
(I removed a super thin cardboard shim I found when I took the gtr apart.)
The pickups were wound by Maricela Juarez, the manager of the Seymour Duncan Custom Shop.

Seymour Duncan DS-280M Pro 2004 2-Color Sunburst

Here is a rare beauty and top of the Seymour Duncan strat line, price when was released was 280,000 yens (more than 3.000$), basically is a custom shop with superior finish, woods and craftmanship.

Made by ESP in the 90's and early 00's years with the Seymour Duncan collaboration, for me they are among the best reproductions of the old strats that were made in Japan that you can find.

Pickups and electronics of course made by Seymour Duncan, 280pro model is the only with custom depeloped SD pickups.

Frets have indents but still plays with no buzzes and low action. Doesn't have too much scratches and worn for a unsealed nitro guitar, see pictures.

Plays and feel great!

BODY: Selected swamp ash
NECK: Maple
PICKUPS: APS-1 Boosted
BRIDGE: Vintage Iron Block Synchronized Tremolo
CONTROL: 1Volume, 2Tone, 5Way Pickup Selector
FINISH: Unsealed All Lacquer
FRETS: Medium to medium jumbo
Weight: 3,6 kg
ESP soft case included.
