Been playing 68 Gibson 345 since 72! Wanting a Strat style for awhile: located a couple: what's the difference between the 2-Tokai's- 84 & 86 -playing, & value?

Welcome to the forum. It all depends on which model you are talking about. The product line for Strats really shrinks by 1986 so there are less options. Are you looks at particular guitars. Also, it can be hard to sort out the year in this period. Serial numbers a pictures help.

Ok, I understand there are many variables!
However, to your knowledge: are you aware of basic things to look for? Pro's & cons?
I played the 84 Tokai Strat: loved it: sound & feel! Thank you

Do you know what model it was?

And many people call everything with a script logo and Fender correct headstock an ‘84 because the Registry is misleading.
