Hey guys, at a local guitar store, I came across a guitar with a scalloped fretboard, and the headstock said "Tokai silver star"
however, after research I am finding that the Tokai Silver Stars online have a slanted boat shaped input jack.
So I'm wondering whether this guitar is a Tokai or is it just the neck.

Not sure what that is. Need a lot more pictures to tell conclusively. Particularly under the pickguard.

Is the jack on the rim of the body?

Yes the jack is on the rim.
I'll try to go back to the store and take some more pictures. What should I keep an eye out for?

The neck and body are not original together, unless neither are tokai. It probably isn't a tokai body but it could possibly be some sort of tokai. You would need to remove the pickguard to show us the inside, also remove the neck to see what is stamped on the end. It's very rough whatever it is, not worth saving imo. Worth the value of the pickups.
