Jacaranda fingerboard/Honduran mahogany neck body TOKAI Order SG

Description of item

It is made using rare wood.
The pickup is a hand-rolled item from the 80's.
We use parts made by Gotoh, and the functions are stable.
There is almost no wear on the frets.
Although the content is highly recommended, we will start at a low price as there is some cloudiness throughout.

that is a nice one  and thank you for posting it (y)

One photo that really gets my attention are some of the components pictured in the control route.

One of the pots is coded 9916 = 16th week of 1999, which is ~3 years before the 2002 calendar year of production of the guitar. The other items are the two Cornell Dubilier green caps.

My 2000 LS-320 has pots that are coded 9831 = 31st week of 1998, which is ~2 years before the 2000 calendar year of production of the LS-320. My LS-320 also has the same Cornell Dubilier green caps.

Interesting that within that era Tokai was using pots that pre-dated by two to three years the production of some guitars. Using the same caps in the 2000 LS-320 as in the 2002 SG would seem to potentially indicate the SG is likely a higher spec, if not the highest spec SG from the period.

Again, nice find and thanks for posting it here.

That is very interesting.

I was thinking of posting it in your thread on why sellers claim Jacaranda is Brazilian, but let it go.

Bummer about the extra screw holes for the aftermarket tuners.

Oh yeah; I missed that and those look like those nasty locking tuners too.
I hate locking tuners.
