The different color is normal on Springys before 1981 or so? Apparently different types of plastic for the knobs and pickup covers.

And it is probably close to impossible to tell what the finish is from a picture. Tokai used very thin poly to mimic nitro. But I see what you mean.

It's probably a 1981 ST 50. The 60 and 80 are two-piece bodies but I can't find any seam in the middle of the body. 1981 ST 100 would have a flame top and gold hardware.

Hard to say.

And you mean flamed neck on the ST100? And not all ST100s had gold hardware. I have one with the optional nickel hardware.

And I believe some ST80s are one piece bodies? Seems like I have seen some. ST100s all seem to be one piece bodies.

I was trying to see if it had a V neck. In 1981 if it had a V neck my memory is that meant ST80 or 100? Then in 1983 it changed so that TST60 had a V neck too.

I saw on the neck plate that it was made in 1981. 1981 ST80s are two piece bodies as specified in catalog. I believe 1980 and earlier ones are one-piece bodies. I do believe a 1981 ST100 had a flamed neck. And yes, there are ST100s with nickel hardware. But Its probability being an ST 50 is much higher

V neck will make it a higher end model. But it's really hard to tell since ST 80 above has a soft V for most of them.
