Is this Greco LPC a super real?
Hi,
I bought yesterday a Greco Les Paul Custom, it is from the year 1980. Can you tell me that it’s a super real, super sound or super power version?

Its from the Super Real series.
The 1000 had Ebony board and MOP inlays, the 800 had rosewood and MOP, after that i'm not much help. What pups does it have ?
Cheers

Yeah, I've read on some forums/topics and realized, that only the Super Real (1000) has an ebony fretboard, and the body is from one piece of wood. The difference between the 800 and 500 is currently a mystery. I don't know what pups has it, I'm waitng for the arrival, but takes a week or so from Japan. If I have it, I will make some pictures for sure about the pups, pickup cavity if it helps.
Greetings

Re: Is this Greco LPC a super real?
if i had to take a stab in the dark id guess the 800 would be Nitro and maybe the 500 poly ? Probably different pups as well. I've seen 500's with 3 piece tops, not sure if thats always the case though. I have an 81 500 on the way from Japan now but its on the slow boat route and will take 2 months (or more) to get to me. I know mine is a Super Power, rw board and poly. I know more about the Mint Collection years but i'm eagarly awaiting this one as its Greco's Violin finish which i have always fancied.

So, the guitar is arrived
I'm really satisied with that one, in reality looks so much better then on the Yahoo pictures. The paint is almost perfect, I think it's a poly finish while it shines like a new one. I just need a little bit sanding the frets, and to buy or trade the current gotoh bridge to a "gold" bridge.
Here are some pictures:

Looks very sweet.
Finish is like a mirror. That's in great shape for 40 years.

Nice Greco custom! Rock that puppy like a hurricane!

'holier than thou cuntiness' was originally exported to the entire planet from the land of rocks and trees aka Cadada, and now the entire solar system is infected

Are the tuners waffle backs by chance?
Re: Is this Greco LPC a super real?
Cliff, from the auction pics they aren't. Some EG-500Cs did have waffelbacks. One is for sale on YA but is listed as an "EG-1000C?"
They did use wafflebacks on some lower models early on in 1980.

Wasn't sure where to post this so apologies for crashing this thread. Just bought a 'Greco Super Real' brazen Picker Strat from eBay.
But..some things don't stack up

Hopefully those image links work.
So- I can't find any 79' super real headstock pics with it written in the Same 'super power' style
The 'handcrafted'sticker/emblem is the wrong way round.
Finally the back plate shows March 79 0003 - was that too early for s super real or could it actually be one of the first?
Trying to figure out if it's a 'fake' or genuine early model.
Any advice/info would be welcome?
