Is there anybody that knows what kind of finish Lacquer is? I have a EGC-1000 from 1981 and a friend of mine owns a EGF-1200 from 1980 and another one has a SA-1200. Its clearly says in the specifications in the catalogue that they all should have "finish-lacquer".
Is this a hybrid of poly and nitro or is it poly or something else. In some forums they say that Greco were using some kind of hybrid finish of poly/nitro, and some says it nitro with additive and some talks about pre cut nitro.
By the way, none of the guitars above do NOT react to aceton.
Is there anybody out there that could give any clarity to this matter.

Having stripped and refinished a few vintage Greco’s, the finish is nitro-ish over a poly sealer/pore filler coat, and actually much thinner and harder than same era Tokai fwiw..

to the OP:

the term 'lacquer' is a very generic, general term, which actually means nothing, because it could mean any thing.
