LS65 VF 2002 - Lacquer or Polyurethane finish ?

Post by -Alan- » Sun Mar 10, 2019 5:40 am

Can anybody confirm if the Violin finish on this model was finished with a lacquer or poly coat ?

I've googled this a bit, but still cannot find a definitive answer.
I've found reports that some of the higher spec Historic models (HLS?) were lacquered, but haven't been able to dig up any information on the LS65.

(The reason I ask btw is that I'm still not entirely happy with the surface sheen, and want to understand what material was used before I do anything further).

Thanks, Alan

Hello Alan, I owned a 2001 LS70VF and it was urethane laquer, different from upper line LOve Rocks. It was a very nice guitar and ligth (3'8 kg.'2 pieces back).

Greetings.

That model would not have had Nitro.

Poly, but a thin layer.
