Apologies if this question has been asked before, I did a search but couldn't find the answer. I have an '85 LS80 and I need to replace one of the pots so I'm going to replace the electrics to 50's wiring with bumble bee caps etc - something I've been meaning to do for a while. The original wiring is to say the least a bit of a mess (non circuit board) and I think 50's wiring should get the most out of the p/ups. I'm assuming that I'll need short shaft pots but just wanted to check if this is correct before ordering the parts? I'm going to order a kit with all the pots, wiring, caps, switch etc. The kit contains CTS pots, here's a link http://www.fake58.co.uk/G%20electrics.htm. Will these fit straight into the existing holes or will I have to drill new holes? Has anyone else done a similar upgrade on their Love Rock and did it make a big difference?

Cheers

Phil

The link above doesn't seem to work (I put a full stop on the end) so here it is again http://www.fake58.co.uk/G%20electrics.htm

I've never owned an '85 specifically, but on the early 80's ones I've had, all have been short shaft. That said, I know production methods changed a little after 1983. The CTS pots will require you to slightly ream the holes, as the shaft is just a bit fatter than the stock pots. Alpha brand pots should a drop in replacement.

I'm sure someone will be along shortly with a more definitive answer.
