I have to decide between a Tokai LS-95S or a LS-160S. One of the (apparently few) differences is that the LS-160S features a "long tenon". What does that mean? What is the tenon? And what does a guitar have when is does not have a long tenon?

Kind thanks!

I doubt if you would notice the length of the tenon in playing it, but there are more differences than just that.

LS160 has a one piece back and the LS95 has a two piece.

LS160 has a lacquer finish and the LS95 is poly.

The pickups and wiring are different as well.

Play them both if you can.

I figure if you are asking what a long tenon is then it probably is inconsequential. The theory is that it relates to sustain and tone and is endlessly debated online.

I tend to go back to this video mdvineng posted a while back when I think about tone.
