I believe that one is probably Korean.

You would need pics in the cavities to fully exclude MIJ that was repainted (no serial number visible).

So I'm not sure if it’s the original color or a repaint?

I’ve seen some in equally vibrant blue MIK Love Rocks, so it may be the original color. Note that the blue one attached has a closed "a" in the logo which some Korean ones had. Still not sure if that necessarily made them one of the unaithorized ones.

Neat looking guitar.

The model, if Korean, would have been an inexpensive one. Probably ALS48 or something similar.

Wood in the body and neck is surely not mahogany. Probably alder, maple, or possibly even plywood body.

For comparison.

1998 catalog with Korean model Love Rocks.

Metallic blue and metallic purple listed as colors.

I guess one of the things that jumped out at me were the screws on the TRC that are rusting and the TRC looks crooked.

I suspect the TRC is not original.

And the rusting screws suggest cheap parts, and are not something I have seen on a MIJ model.

You don't have to yell! LOL

It's definitely not made in Japan for a number of reasons, the obvious one being the oblong routs for the pickup tabs.

And I am not sure how you can tell if this is the original paint job or not? What I am seeing is that the purple covers everything, so no way to know if there was a color under it based on the pics you posted.

And no idea what that white stuff sprayed on top of the purple paint is? Polyurethane coat?

I suspect it is an ALS48 in the metallic purple finish.

Also, based on the horizontal lines I am seeing in the sides of the pickup cavity, I suspect it is a plywood body

as noted in the catalog pic I posted for the ASL48M in metallic blue.

white stuff is their Polishing compound

Not the same Quality Control as Tokai Japan. That would not fly in the Hamamatsu factory.

My bet is that it is a Korean built ALS48M in Metallic Purple with a plywood body and replaced bridge pickup.
