I own a Tokai Breezysound and am in the process of selling. I have posted a question about the guitar before and had some great help but am getting a lot of negative feedback from trolls on ebay about whether or not my claims are genuine.

My claims were based on original feedback and great help from friends on here.

I was originally advised that the guitar was probably an export model (hence no serial) to the UK, rare because of it's double binding, and being a "62 slab", and an 85/86 model.

Can anyone help with the provenance on this just to put my mind at rest please? I don't want to sell it in confidence without some comfort about it being genuine.

The ebay ad is here http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Tokai-Breezysound-/252047916754?

The original responses from Tokai registry are here http://www.tokaiforum.com/viewtopic.php?p=166491&highlight=#166491

And the headstock confirmation of the year is here http://www.tokairegistry.com/tokai-info/tokai-fender.html

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

According to the "Tokai Headstock Timeline" which dates the guitars by logo and headstock, the logo on mine shows it to be a 1985 with the reshaped headstock. See the image I have forwarded in the link below. The 1986 onwards Breezysound has a different logo, and the only similar logo post 1985 is on the vintage models but is below the string tree and closer to the nut, plus it is at a different angle. Has anyone got a photo of a Breezysound post 1985 with the modified headstock and the logo above the string tree?

http://www.tdpri.com/forum/telecaster-discussion-forum/190972-ngd-1985-tokai-breezysound-tele.html Here is a modified headstock 85 Breezy. If your guitar does not exhibit the same stamps, with the same fonts, on the back of the pickups which should be alnico, either TE A or TE B stamped, neck butt and body routs and the same pots, wiring and 3 way switch, which I am sure it will not, then it cannot unfortunately be a mid eighties Japanese Tokai.Mid 80s Tokais did NOT have heavily sprayed tinted necks.Gabe.

That original thread about your guitar had some bum steers in it unfortunatley that countered the true information that it was a newer guitar. It is post 2000 for sure. End of story.

I have had some correspondence with an "expert" who has suggested it is early to mid 90's. It seems that the UK models were not consistent and varied greatly, even within the same year, with and without serial numbers and varying pickup stamps etc. I'll follow his lead and supply his info to another UK Tokai specialist and see what he says. Thanks in the meantime for the help.

Thanks. I'll take it apart when I change the strings next week and take some photos. I'm not really concerned about it's age etc, I just want to ensure I have the relevant true facts when I price it and sell it.
