This is not a fender, so what is it

Ok, I've got this tele from my sister, it says Fender on the head but it's quite frankly a fake.

Body is ply and in so many ways it's just wrong.

Manufactured in the late seventies, probably in Japan.

Interesting finish! The trouble with Strats & Teles is that it's so easy to bolt an odd neck to an odd body, so they might both come from different sources. Most of the comments I was going to make are covered in the other forum - it's obviously not a Fender, but it could be almost anything! The truss rod cover is an odd feature for a Tele copy.

Mind you, if it cost you ?30, I've seen Seymour Duncan pickups sell for more than that on eBay! Enjoy. 8)

The neck's from a '70's Emperador for sure..I had an Emperador and the rear of the neck looked identical...in fact...if the body's ply it could just be an Emperador.
