I have one of the new ATE-50 Breezys, & the body wood looks similar, + it has unstamped Kluson style tuners.

Are the new ones made in Japan? How do they compare to an early 80s breezy?

I am intrigued if Tokai are still making good guitars.

There are new Tokais being made in China & Japan - my Breezy is Japanese. It's with my tech now (to have the set-up that should have been done by the seller!), & it's fine, but it doesn't have the magic of my 30 year old TE70.

But then I prefer old guitars, so maybe I'm not the best person to ask.
