The ls186 has been successfully traded with a Gibson for the custom. So the question still appears, as this ls540 is still for sale.
May it be really the ls540 with Reborn Old on the headstock?
The same seller as for 420 I’ve asked before.

As for the LS420 & LS540 designation goes, that is a retail price.
You cannot tell much from the surface as to construction. You need to have detailed photos in good lighting of the transitions in the pickup cavities to tell if the top is a laminate or not. But that only tells you so much.
I don't go by model number as much as construction. The construction you can see. If he says it has a Brazilian board but there is no COA that is really hard to prove. Also hard to prove if mahogany is Honduran or African.
It doesn't matter much from a player's perspective, but it matters if you are buying and selling and can or can;t prove it.
Everybody wants a deal and some sellers know that and use it to get you hooked. Try to take your time and verify that things are what they claim. I would doubt everything until you have proof. Just how I think. I see people claim things every day that are wrong.
