I know that in 81 Greco started the Mint Collection and that it lasted till 89 or 90. I read on Harmony Central that the ones to get are from 81-around 84, as those were the best quality. What about the quality for the rest of the years? Does it diminish in the later years of 85-89? I'm strictly speaking about higher end models like the EG900-1200 and the EG59-70 and above.

Villager I saw the really nice one on your site (the 1985 EG59-85). How is it?

I looked through this forum and this topic isn't covered here.

Also does anyone know about the EG58s? Sounds pretty sweet check this one out.

I dont see any difference between the early or later mint coll...the difference is the model numbers more so..

the high spec super-reals (1980/1981) are more costly in japan than high spec mint collecion (although not so when they were new) the really good ones are the super-real egf 1000 and above and mint collection eg59-70 and above..

the high end super-reals egf 1000/1200etc have fat necks the the eg59-70 upwards have fat necks...

the eg59-85 I have is very nice ..its just like an early LS-100/120 ..although the pickups are a bit brighter in my view..fat neck though..
