I would like to score one of those for sure. Do you know if they also cae with the slim 60s style necks?

never seen a thin necked 93 or 94 OBG ...

Odd, both of my ObG LPC 57Bs are. I also have another that is quite chunky in comparison and I would describe it as being closer to the 50s style.

do OBGs follow metric or imperial measurements, this in regards to abr bridge and tailpiece/post replacements?

Should it matter?

Im thinking of getting Gotoh aluminium tailpieces, but not sure OBG follow USA Imperial measurements or not

I have a 1992 Orville by Gibson Les Paul Custom with:

all Mahogany body
57 Classics pups
fret-edge binding
ebony fingerboard
6 digit serial number (no letters)

But unlike post 93 OBG LPC 57Bs it does not have:

Amber colour toggle switch
Position indicator under the tone and volume knobs
5 digit serial no.

So, is this an early reissue or is it not a reissue at all.

Please enlighten me!

Sounds just like mine. Although mine DOES have the Amber toggle switch and position indicators. My serial number is 4 3005 (stamped in ink).

I beleive this guitar belonged to Villager before the guy who I bought it from.

There are two things that niggle me about my OBG and I wondered if anyone else with one of these Reissues has the same 'features'? The first is the Headstock inlay. It looks like it's been placed in the wrong position, and the segments all too close together :-?

The second is that you can't do those Jimmy Page, wide bends behind the nut thing, as the strings are closer to the headstock than other Les Paul's I've played. I am wondering though if maybe the nut is lower than a standard Les Paul, the guitar does have very low, lightning fast action.

The neck on mine is much slimmer than a 90's Gibson Les Paul Custom and a 90's Gibson Les Paul Studio I have compared it to. Not sure if it is as slim as a '60's neck', as I haven't tried one as far as I know.

Ah!. The OBG custom headstock inlays.
The reason they are different is because they are from different Japanese guitar factories.
Your OBG with no G in the serial number is made by the FujiGen guitar factory and the OBG's with G in the serial number which look more like the Gibson headstocks are made by the Terada guitar factory.

Aha! It's well known then?!

So....I guess the obvious next question is...are there any other differences between guitars built in FujiGen vs Terada? Is one considered to be 'better' ?

There is hardly any difference.
FujiGen and Terada make guitars with equal quality.
Terada made the early OBG's from 1988 and FujiGen joined in around mid/late 1992.
