Hello All!
I though I'd share this axe with everyone. I took it out of storage to give it a cleaning.
I could have posted it on JEMSITE but I think the Tokai Forum people would appreciate this guitar more.
Its a Starfield Cabriolet American Special. It was made by Hoshino in Japan and finished in Los Angeles by their Custom Shop team...(correct me if I'm wrong). These were great Japanese guitars! They have a Off-set Telecaster Mahogany Body, German Carving, Cream binding, Wilkinson Hard Tail bridge, Ebony fretboard, Satin, unfinished neck. Seymour Duncan PUPs..but I do not know which ones they are.. I have another one just like this but with a maple neck. Fantastic guitars if you do not mind the"yardstick" Ibanez neck feel.. I hope posting a guitar that was assembled and finished in USA doesn't violate the forums rules.. I'll yank the post if it does. I just wanted to show some photos to everyone

Very nice guitar.I have a metallic green one with 3 Lipstick tube pickups ,the Starfields are the best guitars Ibanez ever made in my opinion.Gabe.

Yes, Starfields were of the highest quality out there at the time for Ibanez. I just took mine last night and cleaned up the frets with some 0000 wool and raw linseed oil for the ebony

Yea, they never really caught on with the public which was a shame. When I was going to MI in Hollywood in the 90's, every student wanted one because the main instructor Daniel Gilbert used one... so evvveryone had to have one.
