I wanted to make a new thread to preserve some info that came up in another thread.

With the help of marcusnieman and bluejeannot we discovered that there seem to be 3 different neck plates on Springys.
1. The first neck plate:
-has no serial number on the plate*
-used from some time in 1977 into 1978
-measures 1-13/16" x 2.50"
*On these the serial number is stamped with ink on the end of the neck. Model number stamped in neck cavity.
marcusnieman's 1978 ST60
2. The second neck plate:
-impressed/etched serial number
-used beginning in 1978 (note bluejeannot's guitar) and continuing into 1979 at least,
-measures 2" x 2.50"
-relatively narrow hole spacing.*
*Not sure if this spacing is the same as the plates without serial numbers.
1979 ST100
3. The third neck plate:
-impressed/etched serial number
-2" x 2.50"
-wider holes spacing than the previous one*
*(holes seem to be 5 or 6 mm further apart in both length and width)
1981 ST80
