I've got a chance to buy this Goldstar, but I'm not sure which model is it, so I'm asking for help! :)

S/N is L24116, the year I'm guessing 84, the model I don't know. I'm guessing to be a ST-50, because of the tuners and the supposely 3-piece body.

Any help is apreciated! Thanks a lot :D

I think this is a 1984 ST-40 due to the Chrome Tuners and non-staggered Pole piece pick ups. The ST-50 Models and above, have the "Deluxe" Nickel Klusons fitted.

That's the thing, this one is 2000 miles away from me!
I think I'll pass that one this time.

Thanks a lot!

Felipe:- Nick Lloyd had a very nice looking sunburst 1983 Goldstar on eBay last week. Did you see that? For some reason it didn?t sell, though it looked to me like a nice genuine example at a reasonable price (& far more convincing than the one in your photo) - I?d have bought it myself, except I can?t justify another Strat  LoL.

I have no connection with Nick, or with that guitar. But maybe you should ask him about it ; you?ve nothing to lose :-? ?

Thanks a lot fellows :D

In fact, although it's a 2000 mile trip, it's still in Brazil, so there is no import duties, etc...
I'm actually not in position of buying anything else, since I'm waiting for my last purchase to arrive tomorrow, a Orville by Gibson Les Paul.
Man, I'm turning japanese these days!

Thanks again!

Ah, Felipe, so you are in Brazil! OK, that is a bit far from Nick Lloyds Goldstar in UK  .

Ian.
