I'm in talks to this Greco Les Paul
but now I have doubts ... to distinguish whether is a 700 or 500?
the owner says it is a EG-700 (born in 1978 - Serial H786410), which has mahogany neck ... he wants ? 500
...boh I dont understand ..can you help me?

hi
i far as i know ,,,, a eg 700 from 78 must have fret bindings ,,,, eg 500 does not ...
but if the guitar has been refretet i might not have fret bindings anymore
so not easy to tell if it is a eg700 or a eg 500
all the best
otto

Is the seller sure its mahogany neck?
More or less all Grecos around those years had maple neck.

...brought her to my house.... but perhaps far too by Original LP...
maple neck (3 pieces)... solid mahogany body.. But they sound very high frequencies and those little low... not as disgusting as Aria Pro II ... but unconvincing ...
Tomorrow I'll try to change strings, pickups but I do not think about drastic improvements ..

..after some days.. this Greco sounds good!!:dude:
ok, she has a maple neck ... and I love much better in mahogany ....
the frets are consumed ... must consider whether to replace them, or sell this Pauline old like me ...changing the frets could still improve the sound....
I mounted the bridge a Gibson PAT Numbers (80s) but this guitar is probably better if I assemble a pickup a bit more muscular ... like a 498T or similar....
