Hi There I wonder if anyone can help me. I recently bought a Tokai Goldstar Strat from a charity shop. I put in on another site to try and find out if it's a genuine MIJ or a fake. ( it sure plays and feels real ) some folks thought it was real and some didn't so I'm still in the dark. I believe it's an 83/84 Tokai modelled on the early 60's Fender Strat. Any advice would be much appreciated.

HNGD!

That is a Goldstar TST50 OWR

Mid 1983/1984 I would say based on that serial number range, decal, etc.

Starting in the fall of 1983 the pickups on the TST50 switched to "ST Vintage Mark II" pickups. They have an ink stamp on the bottom that is "VII".
