    Identification Help - Tokai Strat

Back in May 2003 I purchased a Tokai Goldstar Strat from Songbird Music in Toronto before they closed their doors. It was labelled as a "Made in Japan" 57 Reissue. However it doesn't have any markings to identify it. No serial number, no model number. I haven't taken it apart because I dont...

JSD - let me ask a question. I have the box here and it says Made in China. Model DH-502 BL. It says Tokai on the headstock. Are these Chinese built Tokais ...or are they Chinese built copies of a Tokai. I guess my question is ...did Tokai build a bunch of these in China at some...

New Tokai 335 copy, please help!

Some bad news - the guitar is going back. Unfortunately it is damaged - appearing to have been dropped behind the strap pin on the body. There is a fair bit of damage - perhaps done while shipping. I called Mike - he is arranging pickup by UPS and will ship the replacement when the old one is...

OK - I got some more information. My guitar showed up at lunch time ...so 24 hrs after payment..not bad at all. I was shocked to see it was actually sent by Mikes Music in Thorold. I have bought at least 3 guitars from him in the past - my Dillion DLP-675 and my other Tokai ES60. I called...

    Fake Love Rock?

I was reading the earlier posting about the Chinese 335 Dillion/Tokai. I decided to look at my Tokai Love Rock I bought last year....and there is no serial number to be seen on it ...and it does not have a Made in Korea or Made in Japan stamp. Did I get myself a fake? I think I bought a ****...

New Tokai 335 copy, please help!

I emailed music canada as they have another of the same guitars listed. He has told me they are made in China. He said they came from the Dillion plant there - but have been labelled Tokai ..whatever that might mean.

    Cheap Mahogany 355 Copies

I've noticed three ebayers in Canada all have cheap Mahogony 355 copies on ebay at the same time. I think two are from the same dealer using different names but I could be wrong. Does anyone know anything about these guitars and why they are so cheap - around $200 Canadian?

    Tokais On Sale

I'm not affiliated with Mike, however he seems to have some decent prices on a few Tokais. Anyone in the market might want to look into these. http://www.myrareguitars.com/tokainewmodels.html
