Need help with diciding for a brand

Even my strange Burny with 3 screw TRC which allegedly is a pretty low model range (RLG-55 or something) has at least a medium long tenon that goes to the pickup cavity, but without protruding into it. More than what a Gibson Standard does. That being said, my Gibbo sounds better, so I think the...

    Volute?

My strange Burny SG, allegedly from the 70's (77) has that, and a three piece bolt-on(!) neck. The neck is quite nice, however I don't play it much as it needs a refret. This is a very odd model, here are some pics: http://www.restless.no/Members/larseko/burny-sg77/photoalbum_view The pickups...

Why are vint. Tokais supposed to be better than t. new ones?

Could the light color be the glue. I can't see any reason to fake the mahogany. It's not that expensive. Interesting thread, by the way, even my Burny in the lower end (xx-55, I think) has neck tenon which is visible in the pickup cavity. It is light too, although I haven't checked for drill holes.

James Hetfield's old white flying v copy

Looks like it. After googling a bit, it seems that both Kirk and James were playing Fernandes. I guess made on the same factory as Burny etc., then?

'Zemaitis' by Greco - looking sleek!

Gig bag, as I have heard, is common in Japan, even on high quality guitars. As for the dot inlays (and one diamond), I think all the other details clearly justifies a price of $1600! A lot of silver and engraving, as it says. The wood also looks nice, and the hardware seems expensive. Clearly a...

James Hetfield's old white flying v copy

Hi, does anyone know/have opinions about the brand of this guitar: http://www.montyjay.com/jameswhitevcopy.html I guess it's hard to tell, but was just wondering. Best, Lars Erik

    Uncertain about my Burny...

How about this, do you think that is a Korean or Chinese too? It looks like it has got the same cream covers on the back and the same truss rod cover. You can't actually see the ridges on the pic, but I'm sure they're there. And it's got the same three screws. I think it looks the same, just...

    Uncertain about my Burny...

Ok, thanks for all your input. I'm still a bit unsecure here, mainly because of the medium/long neck tenon (visible in the neck cavity, but not protruding into it) and the sycamore maple top. The electronics, esp. pots, looks a bit newer. I'm very unsure about the truss rod cover etc., as I've...

    Uncertain about my Burny...

Actually, I forgot to look that closely. The maple cap isn't really that figured, and looks real in all respects. But shouldn't the neck tenon be shorter if it was a Korea model?

    Uncertain about my Burny...

Hm, if you look at the images, that's a bit long neck tenon for a Korea model as far as I have heard...?

    Uncertain about my Burny...

Ok, could you please take another look at http://www.restless.no/Members/larseko/burny-lp59-sg1983/photoalbum_view I've added cavities..., or directly: http://www.restless.no/Members/larseko/burny-lp59-sg1983/control-cavity.jpg/photo_view...

    Uncertain about my Burny...

Hm. That trussrodcover is actually similar to the one on my Burny SG, which I actually think is more authentic than this (funny how we discuss the authenticity of replica guitars :)). However, that trc has an edge below the two lower screws and no ridge as my LP has... Do you have any info on...

    Uncertain about my Burny...

And now I found a serial in the bridge pickup cavity: F9812018. Does that tell us anything?

    Uncertain about my Burny...

Just for the records, it's not photoflames.

    Uncertain about my Burny...

Thanks. By the way, the seller corrected his model numbering to RLG-55F(s?)... (after I asked if not LPS actually is a Tokai way of numbering).

    Uncertain about my Burny...

No, I'm not OK about being fooled into buying something that isn't what it should be... but the photo flame, you think it is? I didn't think it was, but who am I to tell, that's why I ask... aren't the photo flames usually a bit, uhm, more? Not this discrete (not sure what word to use... this...

He didn't offer me a bridge, just suggested that as a way of fixing that problem...

    Uncertain about my Burny...

Why are you so sure? From other people I hear it is very, very difficult to date a Burny...? There have been made countless models over the years, at different factories..? Shouldn't surprise any if some trussrod covers were different etc at some stage? Or? And this LPS model numbering, isn't...

    Uncertain about my Burny...

I keep telling me that myself, but when you first get that sneaking thought into your head, it is nice to get it away! :) Anyway, the seller claimed that the intonation problem also was fairly common on guitars with that vintage tuneomatic-bridge and recommendet I got one of those Nashville...
