I have a maple board 1980 ST-80 with Final Prospec saddles. It must be an early '80 in that it has 80 tooled on the neck at the last fret. The trem-block is the screw-on type.
I'm fairly sure it is original.
Here's a similar body from '78 and it has the same type of labeling in the route. I guess that's how they were in '78.

On my 2 ST80 routes, there are shallow round holes towards the ends of the pickup routes and no ST80 but a #=# with a color code printed although, these are a 1980 and 1981. Were they different before 1980?

I have noticed that Springy ST-80 necks in general have very little grain figuring in the maple.
Do any of you have a Springy ST-80 with figured maple? I'm not talking about flame or birds eye.

Does it lower the value of an ST-80 to re-fret with 6100 Dunlop fret wire(big stuff) as I have already done this and love the way the guitar now plays?
